Isuzu D-Max - New 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine and optional eight-speed automatic transmission
Isuzu has officially entered a new chapter with the introduction of its all-new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, paired with a smooth and responsive 8-speed automatic transmission. Designed to replace the long-serving 1.9-litre engine, this latest powertrain delivers improved performance, greater refinement, and increased efficiency without compromising the legendary reliability Isuzu is known for.
The new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine produces approximately 163PS (161bhp) and 400Nm of torque, providing stronger acceleration, improved towing performance, and effortless motorway cruising. The increase in torque is particularly noticeable when carrying heavy loads or towing, making it an excellent choice for both work and adventure.
One of the biggest upgrades is the new 8-speed automatic gearbox, replacing the previous 6-speed transmission. With closer gear ratios and faster, smoother shifts, the new transmission offers:
- Quicker acceleration
- Lower engine revs at motorway speeds
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Reduced engine noise
- Better towing performance
