Electric car grant scheme
Peugeot EV Line-Up Joins UK’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant Scheme
Peugeot drivers can now plug into extra savings, as the brand’s popular electric range officially becomes eligible for the UK Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant (ECG). The incentive, aimed at boosting the switch to cleaner transport, is applied automatically at the point of sale, meaning buyers see the discount instantly—no forms, no fuss.
Five Models, One Simple Saving
The newly approved Peugeot models include:
-
Peugeot e-208 – the agile city car with a 248-mile range (WLTP)
-
Peugeot e-2008 – a stylish compact SUV combining space and efficiency
-
Peugeot e-308/e308sw – a refined hatchback with a premium electric drive
-
Peugeot e-408 – the sleek fastback crossover for drivers who want standout style
-
Peugeot e-Rifter – the versatile MPV perfect for families and active lifestyles
All qualify under Band 2 of the ECG, which offers £1,500 off EVs priced under £37,000.
A Boost for EV Adoption
Launched in July 2025, the Electric Car Grant is part of a £650 million government package designed to accelerate the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. While Band 1 models can receive up to £3,750, Peugeot’s current eligible cars fall under Band 2, giving buyers a welcome price drop without waiting for any rebate.
Peugeot UK says the addition of its full small-to-mid electric range to the grant list “makes zero-emission driving more accessible than ever.”
What This Means for Buyers
With the grant in place, Peugeot’s EVs become more competitive against petrol and diesel equivalents—not just on running costs, but also upfront price. Combined with manufacturer offers and dealer promotions, buyers could save well beyond £1,500.
Example:
-
A Peugeot e-208 starting at £31,000 now drops to £29,500 with the ECG applied, before any finance deals or trade-in bonuses.
